Development of an ultra-thin 2-photon endoscope system for in-vivo imaging in neuroscience
We want to develop an ultra-thin 2-photon endoscope system for imaging of deep brain neuron activity in freely-moving mice. Key innovations will be a compact, high-power 930nm fiber laser system and a nonlinear flexible ultra-thin lens-less endoscope, specifically designed for 2-photon excitation and imaging in the deep brain. Imaging performances of the ultra-thin endoscope will be validated by recording neural activity patterns in living mouse brain.
