A Closed Loop System for External Electrical Stimulation of the Heart
We will develop the first closed loop system for predicting cardiovascular deterioration of patients, with a mechanism for automatic external electrical stimulation of the heart to resuscitate them. The system comprises of a wearable patch with novel sensors that can continuously sense the electrical activity along with tissue oxygenation of the heart, combined with patient-specific machine learning methods for predicting patient's cardiovascular deterioration to provide electrical stimulation.
