Cost-efficient crystalline coatings on molded substrates - a new standard for RLGs and beyond
The goal of the proposed project is to demonstrate (i) a novel crystalline coating technology on (ii) precision molded optical substrates. The combination of these two advanced optics technologies will enable a novel standard of laser mirrors with enhanced performance and lower production costs. The primary application of these mirrors will be ring-laser gyroscopes (RLG) for commercial aircraft while there are also vast other possibilities for expansion in the high-end laser market.
