3D co-cultures of human PC and NPC cells from same liver: Prediction of Drug-induced liver injury

The project aims to develop and commercialize novel 3D spheroid-co-cultures of human hepatocytes and liver non-parenchymal cells from the same human liver donors including: - 3D spheroid co-cultures (to predict drug metabolism and hepatotoxicity); - Pharmacogenetic profiles of donors for studying inter-individual genetic variation; - Cryopreservation methods for spheroids; - New models to analyse drug hepatotoxicity in diseased livers (steatosis, fibrosis, cholestasis) and validate new drugs.
