Platform for MRI-based Risk Assessment of Atherosclerotic Plaque Rupture

The consortium will develop a novel software platform to determine wall shear stress (WSS) in atherosclerotic patients, predictive of atherosclerotic plaque rupture (APR) and stroke, using 4D flow MRI. The platform analyzes volumetric WSS in blood vessels in an automated fashion and facilitates to determine population specific reference values. At the end of this Shear-ATLAS project, proof-of-concept is available and the platform will be ready for commercialization as Research Use Only.
