EARLY DETECTION OF WATER-VAPOR INSTABILITIES BY GNSS ESTIMATION

Partners want to use innovative GNSS receiver design approaches to produce a multiband L1/L5, geodetic-grade GNSS receiver optimized for low cost production and allowing the analysis of water vapor distribution in the lower atmosphere. The mapping of this parameter allows an early detection of sudden concentration of vapor originating the catastrophic rainfalls increasingly taking place on the EU territory, giving national Civil Protection services a valuable tool to prevent loss of lives.
