In 2015, EUREKA turned 30 years old. Since its beginnings, it has distinguished itself from other Europe-wide mechanisms by its focus on linking technological knowledge to the marketplace. Its objective is to promote innovation in European industry in order to stay competitive in the global market.
The Annual Report 2015 contains an overview of the activities and projects of the different instruments (Network Projects, Eurostars-2, Clusters and Umbrellas) as well as detailed data for each member or associated country. Moreover, it highlights EUREKA’s efforts in achieving a lean governance model, deepen global collaboration, shaping the European Research Area and reaching out to its multiple target audiences in communicating about innovation; one focus being the dedicated event to EUREKA’s 30th anniversary. The story of EUREKA, however, does not stop here. “Be open and look ahead”, is the title of the report’s foreword by Per Tervahauta (EUREKA Chairman July 2015 - June 2016 and Deputy Director at the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation), Bruno H. Moor (EUREKA Chairman July 2014 – June 2015 and Delegate of the Swiss Ministry of Economic Affairs, Education and Research) and Pedro de Sampaio Nunes (Head of the EUREKA Secretariat).
